The 10 Best Resources For Vacation

Holiday Accommodations at Yosemite National Park

There are many places to stay at Yosemite National Park, and the first thing that you need to decide is whether you want to have your lodging inside the park itself, or you would prefer staying outside the park in its surrounding community. Make sure to note that accommodations inside the camp get booked way ahead or months in advance by people who are going there, so if you are going to the park for your summer holiday, you should have booked your housing from the company that handles accommodations way in advance. Reserving months in advance will assure you that you will have accommodations inside the park. A year in advance is not too early to make reservations for the summer holiday period.

4-star hotels, the Ahwahnee Hotel, and campsites in the backcountry are the available accommodations inside the park. If you will go hiking and would enjoy sleeping in a sleeping bag in the backcountry, then you need to get a wilderness permit from a ranger station. If you have other arrangements to make in the park, then you should go to the company that handles the housing reservations to make them. Aside from the Ahwahnee hotel, you can stay in the Yosemite Lodge at the Falls, which is in the Yosemite Valley. In Camp Curry, the accommodations are tents and cabins. Along the Merced River, you can also stay at the Housekeeping Camp and other campsites nearby.

If you prefer staying outside the Yosemite Valley, but still inside the park, you can stay in the Wawona Hotel and Tuolomne Meadows Lodge which you can find at Tuolumne Meadows, together with White Wolf Lodge. Other places to stay are the high-country campsites. Privately owned rentals inside the park can be found in Wawona.

Near the gates of the Yosemite National Park, but outside its confines, you can still find more lodgings. The four main gates of Yosemite National Park includes the Arch Rock/El Portal Entrance, the Big Oak Flat Entrance on the west, the South Entrance, and the Tioga Pass Entrance on the east. Along these entrance routes are many types of accommodations.

You have plenty of options outside the park. But only disadvantage of staying outside the park is that you need to take long drives to go to the park attractions which are inside the park.

If you are staying outside the park, then you will have to call the lodging places individually for reservations. Outside lodgings are not part of hotel chains and there is no central place to call like the housing inside the park. Some lodgings offer discounts to members of organizations so be sure to inquire if they do offer discounts.
